Arriving in Cardiff
You should pick up your delegate packs and related information from Cardiff University Students Union from 3pm - 8pm on Friday 16th August. For anyone arriving late on Friday evening, there will the opportunity to pick up your packs at St Davids Hall on Saturday morning.
Eating, drinking and partying.
On the evening of Friday 16th August, the festival will open with a party in Cardiff University Student's Union from 7.30pm. There will be live entertainment a free drink and plenty of opportunity to meet new friends.
On Saturday 17th August the bar in St Davids Hall will be open from 11am to midnight (a good option if you want to escape the rugby crowds in the city centre bars). Following the Gala concert there will also be a there will also be an opportunity for delegates to meet and socialise at The Cornerstone. And after all that, if you are interested in exploring gay venues in Cardiff, you can find some good advice in this guide from Towleroad (Hand in Hand even gets a mention!)
There are plenty of places to eat near the festival venues so you won't be short of options over the course of the weekend. Some venues will be providing delegate discounts and we will provide more information in your delegate packs, including vegetarian and vegan options.

MD, opera singer and Estill Voice Trainer, Stefan Holmström will be leading this playful 1hr workshop. He will show us how to move from country & western to crooning to opera so that we can start adapting the sound according to the song we're singing..
This Is YOUR Voice (09:30-10:30; repeated at: 10:45-11:45)
Voice coaches to ITV’s The Voice and All Star Musicals Jeremy Fisher & Dr Gillyanne Kayes walk us through the best ways to warm up your voice, find more breath and match your voice to others in your choral part. We’ll be doing this via fun and accessible exercises and applying what we learn when we sing Total Eclipse of the Heart on Saturday evening!

Copyrights and Wrongs (09:30 - 10:30)
When it comes to copyright staying on the right side of the law can be costly, slow and frustrating process, particularly for choirs wanting to perform modern material. This session will be a discussion group for choir leaders and music teams to share tips and experiences about obtaining permission to arrange and perform copyright material.
Perform in a Flashmob! (09:30-10:30)
In this workshop we will learn some simple songs and moves to sing and will then go straight on to perform them! Aneesa Chaudhry is a dynamic and inspiring choir leader. She is a Barrister turned professional singer, vocal coach and Musical Director.
Singing With Trans Voices (10:45-11:45)
How to make your choir more inclusive and inviting for trans singers! The Co-directors and founders of the Cardiff Trans Singers give a best practice guide on working with Trans voices, including a panel discussion and Q&A.
